Social Media, PR & Community Coordinator

The SPYR Apps, LLC Social Media, PR and Community Coordinator will execute the day-to-day tasks associated with managing the social media accounts, blogs, and forums for the SPYR family of brands. They will help in development and execution of SPYR Apps, LLC's social media and community marketing strategies. The Social Media and Community Coordinator works with external Developers, Marketing and Production departments and reports to the VP of Marketing and Managing Director of Games & Apps.


  • • Content Creation & Curation, including social posting, blogging, etc.
  • • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
  • • Set up and optimize company pages for each game within each platform (FB, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) to increase the visibility of company’s social content
  • • Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules
  • • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information
  • • Maintain contact with Game Press & General Press (bloggers, story writers, mobile bloggers, tech bloggers, editors, reporters) and send SPYR Press releases and stories directly to these news sources
  • • Try to get writers, game bloggers to interview our developer partners and write reviews about our published titles in an effort to drive conversion
  • • Create ‘stories’ around each game release and pitch these to editors, writers, bloggers and reporters in the game community
  • • Collaborate with other departments (legal, game development, etc) to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions
  • • Managing tools – mostly social networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc) and many blogs and game sites as well as SPYR Games website
  • • Measurement of relevant KPIs and reporting to executives
  • • Assisting in the planning and developing of strategies for increasing engagement and conversion of new mobile games released by the company
  • • Getting game developers involved in interviews and stories regarding the games SPYR is publishing


  • • Welcoming members to the forum community & acclimating them
  • • Building relationships with key members of the community and influencers
  • • Moderating conversations and encouraging specific topics (game launches, release updates, seasonal specials, etc)
  • • Running regular programming/content/events/special offers
  • • Coordinating with internal resources to respond to specific community discussions and coordinating cross-functional needs
  • • Enforcing guidelines/boundaries
  • • Reporting/measurement
  • • Channeling input and response from community into other organizational processes
  • • Planning and developing strategies for increasing engagement and conversion


  • • Bachelor’s degree required in marketing, business administration, or related field.
  • • Two years’ experience in social media marketing positions, preferably with a mobile games or consumer brand
  • • Knowledge of brand marketing best practices
  • • Knowledge of Google Analytics and internet advertising platforms
  • • Must be able to work in a team, coordinating activities with various managers and program areas
  • • Must possess excellent written and verbal skills
  • • Must be able to maintain professional rapport
  • • Skills in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data
  • • Good problem solving and time management skills
  • • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • • Strong organizational skills to prioritize workload and coordinate own activities with others

  • • Ability to work in a fast- paced environment and meet corporate deadlines
  • • Knowledge of mobile games a plus
  • • Strong understanding and willingness to learn social media and community marketing concepts as they relate to SPYR Mobile games marketing objectives, as well as overall company goals
  • • Demonstrated general understanding of: social media marketing strategies and channels, blogging platforms and web design, CRM, and SEO a big plus
  • • Demonstrated ability to: communicate knowledge of assigned task(s), provide effective execution of tasks and objectives, translate management direction to actionable tasks, and effectively write, proofread, schedule and monitor channels
